Itinerary

Day 1 and 2: Magnificent Cape Town

Arrival in Cape Town, takeover of the rental car and drive to the booked hotel.
Cape Town, with its spectacular location at the foot of Table Mountain, is considered one of the most beautiful cities in the world. Ride up Table Mountain by cable car and enjoy the magnificent view of Cape Town and down to Camps Bay. In the afternoon, stroll along the famous V & A Waterfront and sample a delicious fish or meat dish in one of the many restaurants.
2 nights including breakfast at the
4*Radisson Blu Hotel Waterfront in a Seafacing Two Bedroom Suite. The V + A Waterfront is within walking distance of the Radisson Blu Hotel (1km) or can be reached by hotel shuttle.

Day 3: Beautiful Winelands (80 km - approx. 1.5 hours)
Short drive to the Winelands with its picturesque landscape, Cape Dutch houses and famous wineries. The afternoon is all about pleasing the palate and the eyes!
1 night with breakfast at family friendly
Orchard Two Bedroom Cottage which is part of Luxury Guest Cottages in Boschendal, which also offer activities for children ages 4 to 14 yrs. Breakfast voucher to be redeemed at nearby Deli or breakfast basket to be delivered at cottage. As alternative overnight stay at exclusive boutique-hotel Leeu Estate with its own prestigious winery.

Day 4 and 5: Whale coast Hermanus/Gansbaai, home of the Marine Big Five (150 km - approx. 2 hours)
Today's journey leads you along the spectacular coastline to Walker Bay. Take a detour of the "Scenic Road" with stop in Bettys Bay and visit the penguin-colony. From a wooden footbridge you can have a close look at the clumsy penguins.
2 nights with breakfast at
Cliff Lodge De Kelders, e.g. in Cliff Lodge Cottage or similar. It is located in De Kelders, right in the first row by the sea. If you are lucky, you can already see whales from the balcony !! Take a whale watching or shark diving boat tour.

Day 6 and 7: Oudtshoorn and its ostriches (360 km - approx. 4 hours)
Today we drive to the semi-desert Klein Karoo to Oudtshoorn, famous for its many ostrich farms.
2 nights at
Buffelsdrift Game Lodge in a family safari tent incl. half board and 1 game drive per day. The Buffelsdrift Game Lodge is a 4-star tented lodge with air conditioned safari tents with en-suite bathrooms. Here you can feed elephants yourself and admire meerkats. The lodge is malaria-free, located at a waterhole, where you may be lucky enough to observe rhinos, giraffes and hippos - an ideal introduction to the wildlife of South Africa!

Day 8 and 9: Scenic coast of the Garden Route / Plettenberg Bay (160 km - approx. 2.5 hours)
On the impressive rocky coast of the Garden Route steep cliffs alternate with picturesque bays and wide sandy beaches with dense rainforest. Discover the treasures of the natural paradise Garden Route such as the Tsitsikamma National Park. A short trail leads to the well-known, 70 m long suspension bridge over the Storms River Mouth. Plettenberg Bay on the Indian Ocean offers beautiful sandy beaches and numerous excellent fish restaurants.
2 nights including breakfast at
Hunter's Country House in Plettenberg Bay in a Family Pool Suite.

Day 10, 11 and 12: Safari at Shamwari Game Reserve (320 km - approx. 3.5 hours)
Today, immerse yourself in another, fascinating world. The private, malaria-free Shamwari Game Reserve is an award-winning conservation area with an incredible variety of flora and fauna. Drive in open game viewing vehicles and spot the Big Five: elephant, rhino, lion, leopard and buffalo. Experience the fascination of Africa, endless space, moments of silence, incredible light effects, magnificent flora and fauna.
3 nights with full board and game drives in private
Shamwari Game Reserve e.g. at the family-friendly Riverdene Family Lodge in 2 luxury double rooms.
The Riverdene Family Lodge is ideal for families with children and offers a supervised game room, a shallow pool area, interconnecting rooms and children's menus as well as special children's safari activities.

Day 13: Flight back from Port Elizabeth (80 km - approx. 1 h)
Drive to the airport of Port Elizabeth, return the rental car and departure.
