DESCRIPTION
The glamorous Villa Emo Capodilistsa is a jewel of the Renaissance. Following strict geometric provisions, the villa is a unique architectural masterpiece because of its completely square shaped layout and two stories of loggias on all four sides of the building. Originally the villa was designed and built in 1568 by Dario Varotari, a Paduan architect and painter, as an opulent hunting lodge for the aristocratic Capodilista family.

In 2004 the Renaissance villa was featured in the film "The Merchant of Venice" with Al Pacino and Jeremy Irons. Nowadays, the villa still belongs to a direct descendant of the Capodilista family, who completed the restoration in 2008. For the interior design the owner was able to win the Paris-based Italian designer Anna Guarini. During the renovation the technical equipment was brought to contemporary standards (central heating, kitchen, bathrooms, Wi-Fi). Four rooms on the ground floor and identical four rooms on the first floor lead to balconies, decorated with magnificent frescoes. The frescoes "Stanza delle Pergola" (ceiling painting with putti during the grape harvest) and the "Stanza delle Ville" (fresco of villas in the area) are particularly noteworthy. Due to the very delicate and precious frescoes a considerate and cautious behavior, especially by children, is mandatory in the villa.

The villa is surrounded by formal gardens, with woods, fields and rolling vineyards beyond. A path leads to a swimming pool (8 x 18 feet) with hydro massage, secreted into a cove of shady trees. A daily maid and room service is included in the price of the villa. The villa can be booked exclusively for weddings or other events. Next to the estate property, a golf club with the one-star Michelin Restaurant La Montecchia is located. The restaurant offers delivery service to the villa.
