Paris - Montargis - Montbouy - Rogny-les-Sept-Ecluses - La Gazonne - Briare - Châtillon-sur-Loire - Paris
Itinerary: Day 1 (Sunday): Montargis Guests are met at their choice of location (for Charter bookings) in Paris and transferred by private chauffeured minibus to the spacious vessel Renaissance where a Champagne welcome with canapés awaits you. You would be meeting the captain and crew and would have enough time for a walking tour of the pretty village of Montargis before dinner on board. Day 2 (Monday): Montargis to Montbouy This morning you will cruise through the Loire countryside and reach Montbouy where wonderful towpath walking and cycling opportunities will be waiting for you. After lunch on board, you will be transfered to Golf de Fontainebleau (18 holes par 72, 6074 m), regarded by many as the best golf course within the southern Paris area. This attractive, all-weather course lies deep in the private forest that forms part of the Fontainebleau estate. You will be enjoying your dinner on board. Day 3 (Tuesday): Montbouy to Rogny-les-Sept-Ecluses After breakfast, you will be enjoying a gentle cruise towards vessel's mooring spot at the village of Rogny-les-Sept-Ecluses, near its 350-year-old 7 lock-flight. In the afternoon, you would be driven to Golf du Château de Cely (18 holes par 72, 5874 m). Situated close to Renaisssance's overnight mooring spot, this recently refurbished golf course is quickly gaining a reputation as one of the foremost courses in the Parisian region. Set in the grounds of a former private château, the course has received great reviews from former Renaissance guests. Dinner on board. Day 4 (Wednesday): Rogny-les-Sept-Ecluses to La Gazonne After a leisurely breakfast, you will visit Gien, home of the Faience pottery. There is also time to explore the bustling market. After lunch you will be back on board and start enjoying an afternoon cruise to La Gazonne, a beautiful mooring surrounded by lakes and ponds that provide water for the workings of the Canal de Briare. Dinner ashore at the Michelin-starred Auberge des Templiers in Les Bezards.
Day 5 (Thursday): La Gazonne to Briare Morning cruise will be to Briare and Gustave Eiffel’s magical aqueduct across the River Loire with more walking and bicycling opportunities. You will be previewing crossing of this amazing 10,000 ton, 662 metre Pont Canal which was completed in September 1896. In the afternoon you will be driven (1 hour) to Domaine du Roncemay Golf & Country Club (18 hole, 6219 m). This international standard course, designed by Jean Garaialde in 1991 has hosted many of France’s top competitions. Overlooked by the château in whose grounds the course has been laid out, the length and technical nature of the course offer a challenge to even the most advanced player. Dinner on board. Day 6 (Friday): Briare to Châtillon-sur-Loire This morning you will be wandering around fruit and vegetable, seafood, cheeses and French fashion stalls in the market in Briare. After lunch, you will be transferred to Golf du Sanserrois (18 hole, par 71, 5820 m). Located on the banks of the River Loire, this golf course, set amongst century-old trees and ornamented by natural water hazards, is considered one of the most attractive in this part of France. The quality of the greens, the friendly atmosphere and the backdrop of Sancerre vineyards make for a splendid round of golf. Return to the boat for a short cruise across the Briare Aqueduct built in the 1890’s by Gustave Eiffel over the River Loire. Captain’s Farewell Dinner on board. Day 7 (Saturday): Châtillon-sur-Loire After breakfast, guests are transferred by private chauffeured minibus to central Paris.
